Hey Andrew! I met you in SMA almost a month ago at the small street fair by Instituto. My dad and I both really enjoyed your work. Do you have a permanent gallery in SMA? I think my parents are coming back in May and might be interested in purchasing a painting. I talked to you about selling your prints online. I noticed you are already doing this at Fine Arts America, but I don’t think it’s exclusive? My online gallery will be quite a bit smaller and feature work that I enjoy. It will be the only online gallery in the world offering mounting to acrylic, aluminum and bamboo. I will also be offering a more generous 60% commission on net profit to the artist. I think FAA and most of the others offer 50%? Anyway, would be great to hear from you. I’m a few weeks away from launching the gallery and wanted to know if you were interested. Initially, I’d like to feature about five of your prints and if you had any you’d like to offer exclusively as limited edition that would be great too. Great website by the way!

Dear Andrew,
Thank you for your submission and your interest in STUDIO VOGUE Gallery Toronto.
We apologize for not responding sooner, however, we have been inundated with submissions as well as busy with current exhibitions. We have reviewed your site and have found your work very compelling

I am reluctant to suggest a subject for a painting, Andrew. You are an artist, I am not. If you produce something I like, I will certainly try to buy it. As you know, I would choose a painting the same size or about the same size as the one I bought so I could hang the two side by side on a large wall in our house. Some of the things I like about your work are the colors and your perception of what you see and the imaginative way you depict it–should I call it “expressionistic”? One work I saw that I really liked was the self-portrait with you in bed with a woman. I read on your web site that you modified this picture (dressed the people) to satisfy the mores of the woman’s family. I guess I understand this, but I would very definitely have referred the original version. Perhaps you shouldn’t say who the models are in paintings you produce that might offend overly modest people. I guess it’s a tough road to follow between your own artistic impulses and your desire to please people who might buy your work.
In the meantime, I wish you good luck in selling your art, and I hope and believe that you will be successful if you continue as a career artist.
Please do continue to send me photos of your art. Regards, Rod

Hi Andrew,
How are you? I hope your travels are going well! I was wondering what your schedule was for the next few months, and if you’ll be in Ontario at all.
We are set to have one show before yours and would love to show your work in May/June.
Hope you are well – drop me an email when you can!
best,
Justine

Hi Andrew,
I found your work on immigrantart.org and was immediately interested in seeing more. Are you in Toronto now, or in Peru?
Our gallery, Elyse George, will be opening in April in Toronto, and we would be interested in discussing the possibility of showing your beautiful work.
If there is any way that I could meet with you and perhaps see some of your art, that would be wonderful. And if you are looking for an opportunity to do a show in Toronto then perhaps we can work together on something that would suit you, in terms of timing. It would also be our pleasure to bring more of the shamanism and healing narrative to Toronto.
I hope all is well with you and I look forward to hearing from you soon,
Justine Purcell

Hi again, Andrew,
Actually, I still do not have clarity regarding my way forward, as I also will be moving from my present apartment, either the end of March of end of April. Lots is going to be up in the air, so I cannot consider acquiring artwork at this time, even as compelling as yours. Such a joyous expression … and so many fish! (The one that particularly drew me is “Animals,” from 2008
If heaven and earth do move for me to be in South America, and possibly Peru, it is reassuring that I would at least recognize a familiar face (you!). Your curandero interests me in that my father’s name was also Percy (he is not on this sphere) … that has to be an unusual name in Peru!
Looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming work.
David
