2010:
SHAMANS AND HEALERS
In 2008, Andrew Osta left his job in art therapy in Canada and flew to Peru to spend 9 months in the jungle studying Amazonian shamanism. He gave a lecture about his unique creative process, and later presented his artwork at a joint exhibition with the late Pablo Amaringo, the famous painter of ayahuasca visions, at the 5th International Amazonian Shamanism Conference in Iquitos, Peru. While in Peru, he kept a diary, which he later published in a slightly abridged form as the book “Shamans and Healers: The Untold Ayahuasca Story from a Shaman’s Apprentice”
2014:
Walk in the Light
Osta’s second book contains three more years of diary entries. As a new Christian, Osta was profoundly aware of supernatural things that continued to happen around him, as well as the various challenges and difficulties he encountered along the way. Walk in the Light documents his early exploration of Christianity, and contains transcripts of teachings given by Jose and Ela of El Refugio (a Messianic restoration centre located in the mountains of Oaxaca.)
2019:
God With Us
Osta’s third spiritually themed book presents the next few years of his journey, including his return to Orthodox Christianity. This book was compiled from diary entries spanning from 2014 to 2020. It includes many travel stories, more than a few accounts of miracles, well as a number of sermons and talks by Jose and Ela from El Refugio.
2015:
Remembering Toller Cranston
This little book was written by Osta shortly after the tragic and untimely passing away of one of his closest friends, the well known Canadian skater and artist, Toller Cranston. Osta wrote this book as a way of coping with the loss of his friend, using his diary entries for the process. Remembering Toller Cranston would be of interest to anyone familiar with this legendary Canadian icon, as well as to anyone interested in the lives of eccentric personalities and artists.
